Art & Science of Posterior Composite

Workshop Objectives:

  • To teach a simple, reproducible technique to create accurate and aesthetic tooth morphology in composite resin for posterior teeth.
  • Discuss some of the new innovations in materials science that are advancing the technology of composite resins.
  • Answers to questions regarding Self Etch adhesives; how to make them better and where not to use them
  • Eliminating the show-through effect associated with direct esthetic restorations
  • Putting it all together; the utilization of a systematic approach utilizing Nanofilled composites, Opaquers, Tints and Microfills to create natural, beautiful and predictable posterior direct resin restorations
  • To discuss how a sectional matrix can accurately reproduce contact and contour for proximal surfaces.
  • To learn how to manage soft tissue problems when placing Class II composite resins.
  • Finishing and polishing techniques that create natural surface texture and reflection.
  • Traditional and recent concepts for placement of direct esthetic restorations
  • Efficiently achieving esthetics and function with minimally invasive dentistry
  • Discussing posterior direct esthetic restorations
  • Establishing proper inter-proximal contacts with composite resin
  • Achieving more polished, more lustrous composite resin in less chair time
  • A novel technique to create exquisitely contoured Class II proximal walls
  • Bulk fill resin composite applications.
