Computer-assisted procedures are becoming more and more integrated into different fields of dentistry. Among the recent advances in dentistry is the
augmented reality (AR) which has increasing applications in multiple medical sectors. The aim of the use of AR is to achieve a more visible surgical field during an operation. Regarding the dental implantology field, static guided surgery has been widely used as a means of creating surgical templates to accurately position the implants. However it is time consuming procedure in terms of planning and producing the surgical template. Therefore, another technique for computer assisted surgery in dental implantology is the image-guided surgery through dynamic navigation. My presentation will cover all you need to know about AR and dynamic navigation in dental implantology.
